Health Risk Assessment- The Rapid Assessment for Adolescent Preventive Services (RAAPS)
When students are enrolled in one of the Health Centers, they are entitled to receive an evidence-based health risk assessment. School Based Health Centers throughout Maine are using the RAAPS, the Rapid Assessment for Adolescent Preventive Services. This tool is being used with youth in several states to help determine risk level for an array of issues including depression, poor nutrition, level of activity, smoking and high risk behaviors. Students will meet individually with one of our specially trained professionals including counselors and nurse practitioners to complete the RAAPS and then review the results. All information is confidential. If indicated, referrals for additional support or education will be made upon completion of the interview.
